Changelog for Alpha v0.5:

Major changes:

  • Bossfight, every 20 rounds, the Silly Goomboid spawns, with it, 3 new enemies come
    • Silly gombidoid: Robot equivalent to the normal goober, 2 hp
    • Nukeboid: Carrys a nuke that kills nearby goobers on death
    • Turretboid: falls from the sky and attemps to damage your tower with a powerful laser
  • 1 New enemy:
    • Armored goober: carries a piece of "armor" on its head, has 2 hp
  • Goober dictionary:
    • When goobers are discovered, they will appear on the main menu
  • Shop redesign:
    • shop is more transparent on what values are upgraded and is more descriptive
  • Permanent upgrades:
    • The laser upgrade now only affects the top laser sprite
    • New tower upgrade: adds more health to the tower
  • Saving system is gone:
    • planned on adding it back on release, it slowed down the development and it was very buggy

Minor changes:

  • Spikes now have custom sprites per level
  • Missiles now have custom sprites per level
  • The permanent upgrade shop now has a sprite
  • Difficulty selector on the config menu
  • Chest opening animation, yippee!

Bugfixes:

  • Volume control was horribly buggy, now fixed
  • Battery meter sprite was not visible on higher level towers

Technical changes:

  • Enemy spawner script has been reworked:
    • before each enemy had a timer for when to spawn, now there is a global timer with a weighted random generator that chooses which enemy to spawn
    • Should not be very noticeable, however, the difficulty slider has been added due to some balancing issues


The scope for the game has increased, expect many alphas on here
